Painting in Oils - Fall One with Cheryl Leonard Van Denburg
Express yourself in oils! Cheryl is offering an evening oil painting class designed for experienced painters. Emphasis will be placed on interpreting one’s reference to create a good composition. Color theory using transparent and opaque mediums will be taught. Explore the values of light and perspective. Painting demonstrations will take place.

General Portrait Painting For All Levels In Oil with Kevin Feary
Throughout this weekly course, each class will begin with a 1 hour demo of a painting I am currently working on from start to finish. Hours 2 and 3 will be devoted to working with you personally, painting portraits from your images.
We will continuously cover:
overall design
drawing strategies
color mixing, values and edges
finishing touches

General Landscape Painting For All Levels In Oil with Kevin Feary
In this weekly class we will design and paint landscapes from your photos. One hour demos will show you how I design and paint a landscape. Hours 2 and 3 will be devoted to working with you personally, painting any type of landscapes from your images, whether you prefer lake scenes, pastoral or architecture. All aspects of painting will be covered.

Mixing Watercolors Class with Elaine Liberio
Ever wonder, “How do I make that color I see”? Do you add a little of this and a little of that and end up with a big pile of mud? Do you ever run out of a color you mixed and then can’t make it again? These questions and more will be answered in this class.
We will cover some basic color theory while learning to mix watercolors and making your own color grids. While there are some good color mixing books out there, hands on creating your own charts is a much more successful way to learn to mix colors. No more guessing, as you will have your own great reference.

Moving Forward in Oil Painting Wednesday mornings or afternoons in October with Cindy Harris
Spark your inner-artist with this class for both beginners and those re-awakening their oil painting passion. Learn the fundamentals of oil painting through Cindy’s method of painting impressionist landscapes and studio still life subjects in a relaxed class that covers basic techniques in a step-by-step, easy-to-learn method while allowing you to nurture your inner artist using a limited palette of colors. We will start with a value sketch, then using a limited palette explore value, light and shadow, color mixing, and other techniques that will help you create your own unique vision. Each session begins with a brief demonstration to get you started followed by one-on-one guidance from Cindy throughout the session. 3 Sessions.

Watercolor Sketchbook Class with Steve BonDurant
Without a good drawing, you cannot have a good painting. Integrating sketching into your routine provides an opportunity to develop your drawing skills. This method fosters courage to try drawing things you might not include in your paintings, and it encourages a looser and more expressive approach to making visual observations and recording them your way. It also provides a creative outlet when you’re not setting up your easel.
Participants are encouraged to bring some tabletop still-life items, such as knick-knacks, toys, fruit, flowers, figurines, condiments, etc.
This single-session class is Steve’s offering for September and serves as a refresher for those who have participated before, or for those who want to get started to improve drawing and sketching skills.
Materials: Minimally, bring your regular watercolors, brush and a pen with waterproof ink. Steve can provide a piece of watercolor paper or bring your own. For the full experience, consider the materials attached here.

Oil Landscapes, Plein Air Style with Steve BonDurant
Join us for Wednesday evenings of oil landscapes! We’ll explore the fundamentals of creating convincing paintings, with emphasis on composition, value structure, depth via color temperature and atmospheric perspective, and finesse for a finish. Individualized instruction of how to develop the scene of your choosing, from your reference images.

In this 3 week class we will cover drawing techniques with a focus on form, value and accuracy. Whether you are looking to draw landscapes, still life or portraits, you will learn to achieve more successful drawings with these time honored techniques.
