David Crothers

Born in Rochester, David Crothers grew up in an “artist” family. After high school, he attended Rochester Institute of Technology and earned an Associate Degree for Applied Sciences, Bachelor and Master Degree of Fine Arts.

David has had a lengthy and successful career for more than 25 years as a commercial industrial artist and industrial designer for various Rochester corporations. David has been showing in local galleries since 1962. With his unique style in acrylics and a satirical twist, he loves to capture the humor and past days of American life. His work is influenced by the Hollywood movies of yesteryear or just something that catches his eye about our America that tells a story. “I have painted with the idea of trying to show something to the viewer they never thought about before and to establish a ‘look’ to my work that people recognize as my individual style.” One of his favorite subjects is autumn, often portraying a Halloween element in them.
